Samsung Galaxy A12

Samsung released the Galaxy A12 on November 24, 2020. It came out with Android 10 and is upgradable to Android 11. Being one of the Samsung Galaxy A series, the phone’s predecessor was the A11 and, the successor was the A22. Samsung released another variation of the phone named Samsung Galaxy A12 Nacho on August 9, 2021. This variation came out with several differences in hardware. It had Samsung’s in-house Exynos 850 and an octa-core CPU. The phone also came with Android 11 out of the box. However, apart from the hardware differences mentioned above, the two phones have identical specifications.

The Galaxy A12 has a Quad camera system with a 48MP wide camera, 5MP ultrawide camera, 2MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth sensor. The phone also features an 8MP selfie camera.

48MP Main camera

This camera will allow you to take photographs, which are sharp and high in detail with a wide dynamic range. The camera can also capture colors that look true to life with less noise.

5MP Utrawide camera

The ultrawide camera has a 123-degree field of view and can capture images with a wide dynamic range. Since the camera is only 5MP, the photographs have some noise and low details.

2MP Macro camera

The macro camera allows you to take close-up photos. However, the macro camera struggles to capture highly detailed images.

2MP Depth sensor

This depth sensor assists in taking beautiful portraits with blurred backgrounds.

8MP selfie camera

The front selfie camera can capture highly detailed selfies. These images have a wide dynamic range. With the help of HDR, you can capture stunning selfies through the phone.

The Galaxy A12 comes with a 6.5inch PLS LCD screen with 720 x 1600px resolution, which is a bit low compared to other Samsung phones. Since the screen is large, the screen comes with a 264ppi density. The only downside to the display is its resolution. The resolution is only 720p. In that case, you might notice some graininess when looking at some content closely. Apart from that, the display shows accurate colors and has good contrast.

The phone comes with a Mediatek MT6765 Helio P35 12nm chipset. Depending on your need, you can get up to 128GB of storage and 6GB of RAM. When it comes to gaming, the phone is nothing special. Although, you can get a decent gaming experience.

Even though it doesn’t perform well in gaming, the Galaxy A12 is a reliable phone for everyday use.

The phone’s key selling feature is its battery. Featuring a non-removable Li-Po 5000 mAh battery, the phone achieved a 123h endurance rating in battery life. Therefore you can use the phone all day without worrying about recharging.

Samsung Galaxy A12 comes with Android 10, and it is upgradeable to Android 11. Since the phone uses the One UI 3.1, the phone’s interface feels familiar, with all the usual features of Samsung phones.

Above are all the specifications of the Samsung Galaxy A12. If you are buying a phone for gaming, this might not be the most suitable. However, for day-to-day work, this phone is perfect.
